Chateau Wyuna is a truly unique, award-winning reception centre, conveniently located at the foothills of the glorious Dandenong Ranges. Ensconced in Australian history, our original 1920’s log cabin and charming 1909 heritage listed country Chapel are situated on 6 acres of majestic gardens.
Having received numerous awards over nearly forty years, Chateau Wyuna is a magical venue with everything you could possibly need for your special day.
CHOOSE FROM ONE OF 4 WEDDING CEREMONY LOCATIONS
Use our charming 100-year- old heritage listed Chapel or one of our two enchanting outdoor ceremony areas – our delightful pergola lawn or waterfall garden.
Our charming, white weatherboard heritage listed chapel is over 100 years old, and was transported from Montrose to it’s current site in 1985. It features an original strained glass window, as well as the original church bells, which can be rung at the completion of your ceremony. There is traditional pew seating for 80 inside, adding an old-world feel to your ceremony. There is no charge for using the Chapel. Including standing room, the Chapel’s comfortable capacity is 110 guests.
The Treetop Room with its recently refurbished balcony and terrace is available as a wet weather fallback for weddings with more than 110 guests.
We have two beautiful outdoor settings for your ceremony;
Our waterfall is a beautiful natural setting
Surrounded by tall, leafy trees, with a waterfall gurgling in the background. This area allows you and your partner to be showcased at the top of 3 stairs,where all your guests can see you clearly. This ceremony location allows for a grand entrance, with the bride arriving by walking over a bridge over the creek, and then through her guests up the red carpet to her partner. A truly special way to start your special day.
The pergola is our second outdoor option, recently updated to astroturf, so there are no sinking heels! This outdoor area is an elegant way to start your lives together, with your alter being a natural green curtain at the top of the pergola, along with a wrought-iron signing table and chairs. For that extra special touch we can arrange for white organza sashes on the aisle chairs, white fabric draping above your guests and either a crystal chandelier or white paper lanterns scattered along the wooden beams. The extra cost for these additional decorations is $250.
Both the outdoor ceremony options have a number of white chairs for your guests, as well as ample space for your other guests to stand.
… and of course the Chapel (or the Treetop Room for weddings with more than 110 guests) is always reserved as a falback if poor weather means you have to move indoors.
Choose from a flexible range of all-inclusive reception packages for between 40 and 150 guests. Each package can be tailored to ensure you have exactly the wedding celebration you have always wanted.
You will have exclusive use of the entire venue, we only host one event at a time. You have a choice of two reception rooms. With spectacular garden views, each room can be decorated to reflect your own personal style.
Set amongst a canopy of trees, the Treetop Room has soft colours and windows along two sides of the room giving panoramic views from the wrap around balcony and refurbished terrace. Perfect for those who want a smaller, more intimate affair, the it can seat up to 80 guests. It is ideal for a casual lunch time wedding, or for an unforgettable intimate evening event with fairy lights twinkling above the dancefloor.
The Burgundy Room is the larger of our two reception rooms, with seating for up to 150 guests. With fairy lights above the dancefloor and a large multi-purpose space called the Alpine Lounge (perfect for photo booths, children’s play areas or just a relaxed lounge area to escape to), the Room is ideal for either lunches or dinners. With warm timber and a cosy feeling, it has plenty of character. The bar is actually part of the original house.
BOTH function rooms
Both of our function rooms have their own bar so your guests will be well looked after whilst here! They both have fairy lights over the dance floor and are fully flexible with table placements.
Both rooms are fully heated and air-conditioned, with the dance floor at one end meaning there Is a separation between dinner and dancing. The dancers can party on the dance the floor, while those who want to catch up with others can do so without interruption by those dancing.
Fairy lights twinkle above both dancefloors, giving an extra sparkle to your event. A fully stocked bar is available for both rooms, with the option for your guests to purchase their own spirits, or for a tab to be put on the bar. Both reception rooms have outdoor areas which can be used for smokers, as well as those who wish to escape for a short while!
With our extensive range of included centrepieces and new gold Tiffany-style chairs, either room can be decorated to suit your individual style and needs.
LOG CABIN BRIDAL RETREAT
The Log Cabin Bridal Retreat is reserved for your use. You can use it for photographs (a great fallback if the weather is not great!) and as somewhere to relax with your bridal party after your ceremony
Our menus are extensive, and focus on delicious, country-style food, presented beautifully, with very generous portion sizes. Your guests will not go hungry! Any guests with special dietary requirements will also be very happy with their meals.
You can of course use our 6 acres of picturesque gardens, including meandering paths and our historic log cabin for all your photography needs.
And you can party for longer. Our evening dinner packages are six and a half hours.
Importantly. you will have peace of mind knowing there are no hidden extras. A wide range of house beverages are included, as well as table decorations, placecards and a display guest list. So you don’t have to worry about any of that detail.
And you wont have to pay extra for having the bar open so your guests can buy spirits, or for cutting up your cake. We will be happy to be your Master of Ceremonies.
For a little added indulgence on your special day though, we offer a range of optional extras. But they are just that – optional. They include premium beverages, entrée platters, a dessert buffet, time extensions, extra decorations – and even a silent disco! You can see details here.
At the end of the reception, your guests can even stay overnight at a motel immediately next door. But if they want to drive home, there is no windy mountain drive. We are located on the extension of Canterbury Road.
